Adecco is working in partnership with Bentley Motors to seek a talented Exterior Lighting Engineer for a temporary contract lasting six months. If you’re passionate about design, technology, and innovation, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Role: Exterior Lighting Engineer

Duration: 12 Months

Location: Crewe (3 days in the office)

Rate: Competitive (outside ir35)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Development: Lead the design and development of lighting technologies. Specify requirements, oversee testing, and ensure successful integration and validation of systems.
  • Project Delivery: Plan and manage project-related activities, ensuring timely completion while communicating status effectively within cross-functional teams. Collaborate with suppliers to drive project deliverables.
  • Problem Solving: Tackle complex engineering challenges. Analyze and manage design-related issues to pinpoint root causes, leveraging data to produce insightful reports.
  • Knowledge Development: Stay up to date with the latest technologies. Influence group partners and foster innovation in lighting systems.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a cross-functional team, contributing to shared objectives and enhancing team dynamics.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Expertise in Automotive Lighting: In-depth knowledge of lighting regulations, independent data interrogation using CATIA V5, and an understanding of automotive lighting systems.
  • Project Management Skills: Experience in managing projects and suppliers, alongside financial awareness related to costs and budgets.
  • Technical Know-How: Familiarity with complex plastic injection moulding tooling, vehicle electrical architecture, and optical design.
  • Communication and Leadership: Strong ability to communicate across various levels of the organization and influence colleagues.
  • Education: A higher engineering degree or equivalent is required, with membership in a relevant professional institution and Chartered Engineer status being preferable.
