If so, read on to see what Thales has to offer… What the role has to offer: Earn while you learn Job specific training experience Recognised qualifications Permanent role from day one You will work as part of a diverse team of software engineers, developing the software that provides Sonar products that solve our Royal Navy and export customer’s challenges in areas such as hunting for mines under the sea. This will involve working across the Thales global business to push the boundaries on topics such as how AI and autonomy can enhance our products. You will be encouraged to own your development plan covering the technical and professional skills needed to meet you ambitions. You will be fully supported by your team to make this a reality. Software engineering has many roles including development, test, architecture, delivery management, people leadership, DEVOPS. You will get the opportunity to find out which suits you best, and which can be a future career ambition. You will be a member of an “agile” software team developing our solution and will work with systems engineers to define what is needed. You will also work with our support teams to ensure operability in service. Apprentice Programme: As a Software Engineering Apprentice you will be studying towards a BSc in Digital and Technology Solutions, following the Software Engineering Pathway. This is a Gold accredited programme by Tech Partnership Degrees. For the duration of this 4 year programme you will be given one day per week in which to attend Manchester Metropolitan University. For the other four days you will be working in the business, applying your university learning and gaining a breadth of experience within the software function. At the end of the apprenticeship you will be working as a software engineer within the Thales UK businesses. Requirements: Candidates will need a minimum of 104 UCAS tariff points at A Level (Grades BCC) or an equivalent e.g. BTEC DMM. They will also require five GCSEs grade 9-4 (A-C) including English and Maths. Right to Work in the UK for the duration of the 4 year programme.
