Salary £14.05 per hour including holiday pay (£12.21 per hour plus £1.84 per hour holiday pay). Variable hours. Temporary until 30/06/2026.

The Role

As a key member of the Student Support and Experience Team, you will provide a high quality, proactive learning support service for students (in mainstream classes) who have special educational needs and disabilities. You will work with curriculum teams to ensure that all learners receiving support have the opportunities to achieve and exceed their potential, develop independence skills and have equal opportunities to progress into further study, employment and/or positive community engagement.

Support will include: practical access, simple adaptations and note taking. You will keep accurate records, monitor and track individual support details and progress. You will be expected to attend to personal care needs, be involved in moving and handling and the administration of medication, after receipt of the appropriate training.

What we are looking for

You must have experience, knowledge and understanding of barriers and issues faced by students with special educational needs and disabilities together with strategies to overcome these. Experience of working in an education or care setting with young people with learning difficulties, disabilities and complex and physical needs would be an advantage.

All hourly paid part time staff receive pay the month following the month in which hours are worked, e.g. hours worked in November are paid at the end of December. Holiday pay is accrued and paid three times per annum, March, August and December.
