We are seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical Deputy Manager to join a well-established and highly regarded Nursing & Residential Home in Newcastle. The home is purpose-built, modern, and boasts a Good CQC rating in all areas. You’ll be part of a caring and committed team dedicated to delivering the highest standards of care to elderly residents, including those with dementia and end-of-life needs.
About the Role:
As the Clinical Deputy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the daily running of the home, supporting the Home Manager in leading the clinical and care teams. Your responsibilities will be primarily supernumerary, with hands-on clinical leadership as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee care delivery, care plans, and ensure regulatory compliance
- Lead and manage a team of nurses and care staff
- Support rota planning, staff development, and training
- Assist with recruitment, appraisals, and performance management
- Occasionally cover nursing shifts on the floor
What We’re Looking For:
- NMC Registered Nurse – Adult, Mental Health or Learning Disabilities
- Previous experience as a Clinical Lead or Deputy Manager in a care home setting
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Passion for elderly care and commitment to continuous improvement
Working Hours:
- Core hours: 3 x 8-hour day shifts (Mon–Fri, 08:00–16:00)
- 1 x 12-hour shift per week
- Some evening/weekend work and on-call responsibilities may apply
