Network Engineer

Harris Global are currently looking for a Network Engineer to join our well known client on a permanent basis.

This role will require strong all round networking skills and proven experience in routing, switching and firewall technologies. This is a hands on, technical role where you’ll be responsible for maintaining, securing and optimising a complex network infrastructure, supporting both project work and day-to-day operations.

Candidates must possess a valid CCNP and have full eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the stability, availability and security of the network estate (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi/Firewall)
• Lead on routing and switching configurations and troubleshooting (OSPF, BGP, VLANs, STP, etc.)
• Manage firewalls (Checkpoint, Cisco ASA/FTD) and Cisco wireless technologies (WLC, LWAP)
• Participate in infrastructure projects and disaster recovery testing
• Monitor, maintain and upgrade hardware/software, including data centre and hybrid cloud networks
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors and produce high quality technical documentation
• Be part of an on-call rota (1 in 4)

Key skills:

• Valid CCNP certification (R&S ideally)
• Strong hands on knowledge of routing protocols, switching and Cisco network infrastructure
• Proven experience working as a Network Engineer in a mid-large sized organisation
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud networks (AWS/Azure), VPNs and SD-WAN technologies
• UK working rights – you must be fully eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship

This role will require 2 days per week onsite in London.
