Michael Page is currently partnering with a successful Asset Management firm based in Central London to recruit a Qualified Financial Controller for a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This role requires a minimum of 5-10 years of post-qualification experience as an Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Investment Management industry and a clear understanding of investment management firms.

As Financial Controller, your duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Uphold professional integrity and always act in the best interest of clients
  • Ensure full compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks, including FCA requirements
  • Foster effective working relationships across departments and regions
  • Maintain ongoing professional development to stay current with industry standards
  • Contribute to the firm's marketing initiatives and broader business goals
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and management accounts for UK and international entities
  • Manage regular financial reporting cycles for both internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Supervise financial controls, including bank reconciliations, payment authorisations, and cash flow monitoring
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with outsourced finance providers
  • Lead the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Support the development of annual business plans through financial data analysis and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with all tax obligations, including timely filing and payment across relevant jurisdictions
  • Review tax returns and coordinate with external advisors for tax planning and advisory support
  • Annual update of the Firm's internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP)

Profile:

  • Clear and confident communicator across all levels
  • Experienced in creating business plans and KPI reports
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail
  • Proven experience overseeing outsourced vendors
  • Skilled at building and maintaining vendor relationships
  • Flexible and hands-on approach to both strategy and operations
  • Comfortable managing both short-term tasks and long-term goals
  • Qualified within one of the following ACA, CIMA or AACA
  • Will be immediately available to start

Job Offer:
