Area Sales Manager – Rail This role is to cover the North UK (predominantly M62 corridor East to West). We are looking for a motivated individual to generate the maximum amount of profitable sales through the achievement of order intake and sales targets, motivating customer commitment, adherence to agreed KPI’s, building value additive relationships with customers and by making customers aware of the company’s product portfolio within your given area. Regularly visit customers to update them on new products and ensure awareness of our Rail sector capabilities. Follow necessary H&S site requirements. Manage projects from discovery to order completion. Keep customer data, forecasts, and opportunities updated in the CRM (Salesforce). Maintain a weekly diary of activities and opportunities in Salesforce. Provide aftersales support by liaising with specifiers, order placers, and the DWW support team to resolve issues professionally. Submit monthly reports on area activity, performance, and market intelligence. Coordinate with your manager on pricing and sales conditions. Submit monthly expenses through the company portal (SAP Concur). Adhere to Company’s Quality Manual and H&S Procedures. Perform other tasks as required. Qualifications Experience with lighting or electrical products is required. Specification sales experience is essential (Rail sector experience is a plus but not required). Strong communication skills and the ability to be assertive when necessary. Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and managing time effectively. Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within the UK sales team. Commercially astute with a keen understanding of business dynamics. Strong attention to detail. Experience with CRM systems is preferred.
