About the Role:
As a Graduate CAD Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our customers and internal teams through accurate technical drawings, quotations, and engineering support. You will be involved at the very early stages of customer enquiries, helping assess feasibility and design requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process new customer enquiries, including feasibility assessments
- Liaise with production, engineering, and die tool departments on design and tolerancing
- Work directly with customers to refine profile applications and design solutions
- Create 2D and 3D CAD drawings for shapes and fabrications
- Support the product approval process for new enquiries
- Source quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Maintain a strong understanding of quality assurance procedures (Romidot QA Processes)
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other 2D CAD software (Inventor 3D is a bonus)
- Understanding of engineering drawings and principles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organised, with strong time management and multitasking abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
- Knowledge of metal or industrial plant processes is desirable
- A flexible approach and willingness to go the extra mile when needed
