We have an exciting new opportunity for a proactive and forward-thinking Senior Commercial Property Solicitor to join our expanding team based in Reading. We are looking for an individual to support the partners on transactional matters and manage their own caseload autonomously, with support available where needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of commercial property transactions, including freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals.
- Advising on and drafting commercial leases, lease renewals, and ancillary documents, including licences to assign, underlet, or carry out alterations.
- Providing portfolio management for occupiers and landlords.
- Providing corporate support on the property aspects of business transactions.
- Advising on secured lending matters.
- Identifying concerns and risks, and providing practical and commercial solutions.
- Communicating effectively with team members, clients, and third parties involved in transactions.
- Participating in business development activities and cultivating relationships within the commercial community.
Skills and Experience Required
- Significant commercial property experience, including a proven track record of working autonomously on complex transactions, with partner support available as needed.
- Experience in building and maintaining relationships with clients and referrers in the commercial sector.
- Strong drafting, verbal and written communication skills.
- Organised and detail-oriented, with an ability to approach complex problems methodically.
- Practical and commercial thinking, with resourcefulness and a strong work ethic.
- A willingness to engage in marketing and business development activities.

Other information
The Commercial Property Team works closely with the other teams within our wider Boyes Turner Real Estate team which is about 35 strong and includes dedicated teams dealing with land development, residential conveyancing, constructions, planning and property dispute resolution. You will need to demonstrate that you are keen to build your own network and will be able to develop strong working relationships with clients, referrers and other members of the business community.
