We’re looking for a Director of Engineering on behalf of a fast-growing fintech organisation that’s reimagining how money moves. This is a rare opportunity for a hands-on, strategic leader to help scale a high-performing engineering function while delivering real impact through customer-focused products.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 14–20 engineers in a full-stack, agile environment.
- Drive engineering excellence across architecture, DevOps, and quality practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to deliver innovative, value-led solutions.
- Foster a culture of autonomy, continuous learning, and technical rigour.
- Remain engaged in the technology, with a particular focus on Java and modern software practices.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years in engineering leadership, including 1+ year at Director level or above.
- Strong background in Java or a similar object-oriented language.
- Experience leading teams through agile transformation (Lean or Kanban ideal).
- Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for building scalable systems and solving complex, real-world challenges.
