McBride Sport are delighted to be supporting Kent Cricket in the search for a new Chief Executive. Kent Cricket is one of only 18 professional county cricket clubs in England and Wales. From their current headquarters at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in Canterbury, and with a satellite ground at The County Ground, Beckenham, Kent Cricket are responsible for the growth and development of all cricket across Kent including our four London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, and Lewisham - from community and schools’ cricket to the professional game.
Founded in 1870, Kent has won every domestic cricket title, playing host to some of the greatest cricketers in the game including Colin Cowdrey, Derek Underwood, Alan Knott, Steve Waugh, Aravinda de Silva, Muttiah Muralitharan, Rahul Dravid, Lydia Greenway, Tammy Beaumont, as well as former club Captain and now Managing Director of England and Wales Cricket Board, Rob Key, and new England Women’s Head Coach, Charlotte Edwards.
Their rich heritage, a thriving recreational game – with more recreational players than every county bar one – and unique estate provides the foundations upon which you can create the next historic chapter. Kent Cricket believes the evolving cricketing landscape demands a Chief Executive with well-developed general management skills, but Kent Cricket also have the will, ambition, community support, playing talent, elite pathway, commercial opportunity, and estate to take advantage of these changes.
It is because of this that we believe becoming our new Chief Executive Officer is an exceptional and genuinely rare opportunity. While a background in cricket is not essential, you will bring experience in successful commercial leadership, estate utilisation and development, and brand development as an authentic and effective leader. Additionally, you will have the passion to ensure that Kent Cricket is a champion of inclusivity and diversity, ensuring they remain a force for good, genuinely changing the lives of the people of Kent.
With new funds coming into the game and the changing structure of domestic cricket, candidates will be as excited as they are about the transformational opportunity to make Kent Cricket enduringly competitive on and off the field.
