The Company: Multimillion turnover market leading ambient food wholesale business supplying to grocery retailers and trade.
The Job: Reporting to the MD and managing a sales team of 5, specific responsibilities will include:
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients, market trends and competitors.
- Analyse customer needs and assess the market demand for products.
- Meet with prospective new customers as well as existing customer accounts to identify strategic opportunities that align with new business growth objectives.
- Develop and implement strategic business plans to expand the customer base.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients for new business opportunities.
- Regularly review objectives and sales targets, and work towards achieving or exceeding them.
- Develop pricing strategies and negotiate contracts with clients.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, and have an in-depth knowledge of the Company’s products and services.
- Attend industry events, trade shows and conferences to network with potential clients and partners.
- Build and nurture relationships with key industry stakeholders.
- Prepare detailed proposals and quotations for new business opportunities from existing and potential new clients.
- Customise product offerings based on customer requirements.
- Negotiate and draft contract terms and conditions with clients.
- Prepare regular sales and business development reports for the leadership team.
- Analyse sales data and trends to make informed business decisions.
- Ensure sales activities comply with legal and ethical standards. Uphold the Company’s reputation and values in all interactions.
- Supervise and motivate your team members, manage performance and assist with all people management issues.
- Support with project and other initiatives as and when required.
The Candidate: Multichannel FMCG experience. Previous experience in a Sales Director or Sales leadership role with proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members. Ability to develop and execute sales strategies, win new business, and manage key stakeholder relationships successfully executing these sales strategies to hit sales targets, build relationships and understand customer trends. Demonstrable and proven sales and business development skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively, as well as close deals and secure contracts. Commercial dexterity to adjust strategies and approaches in response to changing circumstances to overcome challenges and seize new business opportunities. Demonstrable success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and building long term client relationships. Ability to conduct market research, analyse data and identify trends to make informed business decisions. Clean driving licence with the ability to travel to visit potential clients and conduct other role requirements.
The package: Salary £90,000 + Bonus + Pension.
