About the role
At Beams, our Build team is the operational engine that turns ideas into beautiful, functional homes. We’re building a trusted network of contractors and an internal capability that ensures renovations are delivered seamlessly from sale to handover. As a Build Advisor, you’ll be at the heart of this transformation. Your focus will be to coordinate the delivery of residential renovation projects — from scheduling contractor works and conducting on-site visits to managing project timelines, budgets, and quality.
You’ll collaborate with internal teams like Planning and Design, and act as a key liaison between homeowners, contractors, and suppliers. Reporting to the Head of Build, you’ll also play a role in improving the tools and systems that help us scale project delivery with consistency and excellence.
What you’ll be doing:
- Coordinate with internal teams to prepare detailed proposals, work orders, and project plans based on sold renovations
- Schedule and oversee the work of contractors and subcontractors across multiple live sites
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure high-quality delivery
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to Beams’ standard of finish
- Support continuous improvement by helping refine our build playbook and introducing efficiencies to our processes
- Build strong relationships with contractors, troubleshooting issues and ensuring clear communication across all parties
- Contribute to growing our network of vetted contractors and supporting onboarding when needed
- Maintain detailed records, snag lists, and contribute to successful handovers to customers
What you’ll need:
- Essential: Proven experience delivering residential renovations from planning to completion
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulatory standards
- Confident working on-site: identifying issues, reviewing build quality, and resolving queries
- Able to read and interpret construction drawings and site conditions
- Excellent communication skills — clear, professional, and proactive with clients and contractors
- Strong organisational and time management skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Comfortable with tools like Google Sheets or Excel for planning and tracking
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to high standards of quality
- Desirable: A personal interest in sustainability and making greener choices in construction
- Background in architecture or design is a plus
Package and Benefits:
💰 Competitive salary and share options, giving you a stake in Beams’ success
🌴 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
🚀 Opportunities for professional growth and development in a fast-paced, mission-driven team
📚 Dedicated budget for learning & development
