This position plays a pivotal part in bridging the gap between complex engineering capabilities and evolving customer requirements across the defence sector. The successful candidate will work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to guide the integration of specialist systems into larger defence platforms, ensuring technical compatibility, operational relevance, and commercial viability.

This role would suit a systems-savvy engineer with a strong grasp of defence architectures and a confident approach to client engagement. It is ideal for someone who enjoys applying technical insight to real-world challenges, shaping bespoke solutions, and influencing programme outcomes. With a mix of pre-sales support, integration planning, and hands-on technical consultation, this position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the delivery of high-impact defence capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical engagement with defence customers, from early-stage discussions through to system delivery and integration.
  • Translate customer requirements into tailored technical solutions and integration plans.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, documentation, and supporting material for bids and tenders.
  • Advise on system integration into existing defence infrastructure, ensuring compatibility with network architecture and security standards.
  • Deliver technical presentations, attend stakeholder meetings, and support field activities such as trials or demonstrations.
  • Identify technical risks and provide input into project planning and mitigation strategies.
Skills & Experience
  • Background in systems engineering, technical sales, or solution consultancy within the defence industry.
  • Solid understanding of defence communications, architectures, and platform integration.
  • Confident working with cross-functional teams and engaging directly with customers.
  • Ability to balance technical detail with commercial objectives.
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities across bid, project, and delivery phases.
Desirable
  • Experience working on integration of hardware or communications systems into larger defence networks.
