Job Description
Maintenance fitter
Robertson Recruitment are looking for maintenance fitters, these candidates would have to be mechanically minded and have experience working with machines in a factory setting. This is a great time to join an expanding company and a great chance to develop your skills as a mechanical fitter.
For the first couple of weeks you will be trained on the day shift doing an 8:00am – 16:30pm Monday to Friday.
Maintenance fitter working hours
4 on 4 off shift pattern. 18:00pm – 06:00am
Please be aware you will get shift allowance on this shift too.
Maintenance fitter responsibilities
- Responsible for the day to day operation of the manufacturing assets
- Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and investigations to enable diagnosis and rectification issues with plant with support from team members.
- Ensuring all relevant reports such are completed and contain required levels of data and that the information is correct.
- Experience with Hydraulics and pneumatic hoses and circuits
- Replacing bearings and rollers when required
- Welding and fabrication tasks required
- Able to do PPM checks
- Able to fix basic electrical faults
- Maintaining a clean and tidy site
Maintenance fitter skills
- Proven mechanical/electrical maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
- Good working knowledge on industrial pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics and other plant and equipment.
- Apprenticeship trained or time served
