We are actively seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual with expertise in ocean freight. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, carriers, and suppliers to negotiate and confirm rates effectively Main Duties * Receive customer quotations via varying methods – email / online portal etc * To cover Ocean – Imports / Exports / Cross Trade * Negotiate rates with carriers / hauliers / suppliers and confirm availability of equipment and agree prices where no tariff exists, to maximise cost-effectiveness. * Prepare and submit customer quotations and proposals within agreed timeframe * Work within our in-house system to create and issue quotations * Communicate with customers to manage and follow up all quotes to obtain feedback to measure, analyse and circulate to the relevant teams, adjusting pricing where possible to ensure we secure opportunities. * Track success/failure rate of quotes, reporting back to management * Develop and build relationships and provide the highest level of customer service to all customers * To produce strategic tariffs when required to ensure effective workload and to ensure these tariffs are kept up to date and relevant * Monitor carrier websites and notifications * Engagement with ocean freight operational teams to ensure smooth handover of secured shipments Experience required * …
