Are you an Automotive Design Engineer with experience in EDU (electric drive unit), seeking a new challenge? Do you have passion for future vehicle development? If so, Expleo have an opportunity for you! One of the world's largest automotive manufacturers is currently recruiting for a Design Engineer to create design proposals for EDU (electric drive unit). As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering robust design proposals, managing complex assemblies and ensuring alignment with engineering standards and design best practices. Based in Warwickshire, you will be supporting a dedicated and enthusiastic team of Engineers on a contract basis.
Responsibilities of the Design Engineer include:
- Develop design proposals for EDU development in alignment with programme milestones
- Conduct package assessments and evaluate feasibility of design concepts
- Drive concept development ensuring engineering credibility and innovation
- Investigate and propose improvements for future development phases
- Resolve on-cycle engineering issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Support stakeholders with potential design solutions
- Manage 3D CAD assemblies and create detailed manufacturing drawings
- Produce and manage component and assembly-level CAD data
- Ensure all designs are in line with engineering standards
- Actively identify opportunities for process improvements and highlight potential risks
Qualifications and skills required for the Design Engineer include:
- Ideally Degree qualified in Engineering or equivalent professional experience
- Strong experience in 3D CAD modelling, ideally with CATIA V6
- Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Proven track record in delivering innovative design solutions
- Capable of managing issues and driving them to resolution within project timelines
Experience in automotive or advanced manufacturing sectors, also prior involvement in EDU (Electric Drive Unit) design and packaging is desirable.
