ROLE PURPOSE

As a Commercial Pricing Manager, you will collaborate closely with various business units and commercial teams to develop, implement, and refine effective pricing strategies across the organisation. You will play a key role in executing pricing initiatives, providing pricing recommendations, and supporting sales and commercial decision-making.

This role also involves coordinating pricing activities, developing and maintaining pricing models and analytical tools, and continually enhancing these resources to maximise profitability while ensuring customers receive consistent and competitive pricing.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Conduct detailed market and competitor analysis to identify pricing opportunities and risks.
  • Analyse pricing data to extract actionable insights and optimise performance.
  • Lead and mentor a team of analysts, fostering professional development and high performance.
  • Manage multiple pricing projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of objectives.
  • Collaborate with commercial, sales, marketing, and finance teams to ensure pricing consistency and alignment.
  • Prepare and present pricing strategies and performance reports to senior management.
  • Support broader commercial initiatives and contribute to cross-functional business projects as needed.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Degree-level education or significant relevant experience (preferably in a numerate or analytical discipline such as mathematics, statistics, economics, or business).
  • Proven management experience, including leading teams and delivering large-scale projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in a pricing, finance, or commercial environment, ideally within a large-scale business such as FMCG, retail, or similar sectors.
  • Demonstrated progression and breadth of experience in previous roles.
  • Strong data analytical skills, including proficiency with SQL and familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Java.
  • Experience working with transactional data and pricing models.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with knowledge of pricing science, revenue management, and profitability analysis.
  • Well-organised, able to prioritise effectively, and perform well under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
