Our client, a highly regarded Investment firm with circa $60Bil of AUM has an opening within Finance team for a Payroll Specialist to oversee global payroll operations across Asia, Europe and North America. This role will ensure compliance with regional regulations, optimise payroll processes, and support employees with payroll-related queries. The ideal candidate has a strong background in multi-country payroll processing, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for compliance and efficiency.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll cycles across global offices (US, UK, Paris, Singapore and Hong Kong) ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.
- Prepare payrolls for approvals and support the submission of statutory notices and relevant tax/social security documents to third parties.
- Work with payroll software and third-party vendors, performing data verification between payroll and HR systems to maintain accurate payroll records.
- Act as the key liaison between HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate employee data and seamless payroll integration with benefits, compensation, and taxation policies.
- Manage the payroll inbox and address payroll-related inquiries, ensuring employees understand their compensation, deductions, and benefits.
- Generate payroll reports, reconcile payroll transactions, and collaborate with the Finance team for accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with audits and finance-related queries.
- Identify and implement best practices to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain, update, and assist in creating relevant payroll policies, procedures, and forms.
- Ensure adherence to local payroll regulations, tax requirements, and statutory contributions in each jurisdiction.
- Ensure full compliance with all local data protection regulations and privacy controls, and any related issues are raised via the appropriate channels.
Background & Experience
- Approximately 3+ years of experience in payroll processing across multiple regions.
- Proficiency in payroll platforms, such as UKG and ActivPay.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant payroll, pension, benefits regulation, and legislation internationally
- Strong ability to analyse payroll data and resolve discrepancies.
- High level of accuracy and commitment to data integrity.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex payroll information clearly to employees and stakeholders.
- Relevant degree/qualifications within finance/accounting.
- Experience with process automation and optimisation in payroll operations.
