Your new company
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join their bulk transport business unit as a transport planner/operator. With a fleet of over 100 vehicles, 140 tankers and 400 trailers, their dedicated team service some prestigious clients. Based at their head office in Glasgow, the role presents the opportunity to work within a strong and dedicated team gaining the skills and experience required to successfully operate the day-to-day transport operation.
Your new role
The role will involve planning and routing of drivers and vehicles, communicating with drivers and customers and ensuring adherence to customer service levels, legislative compliance, and operational efficiency. Effective management and planning of drivers, through ongoing communication and using their TMS software. Controlling and planning an agreed amount of resources (vehicles, drivers, trailers); ensuring all legal requirements are adhered to (Working Time Directive and EU Drivers\β Hours regulations). Ensure all drivers\β administration / management is in line with regulations. Constantly communicate with our customers & drivers to ensure customer KPI\βs and targets are achieved and maintained.
What you\βll need to succeed
An excellent knowledge of transport with previous planning experience of a large fleet. Excellent knowledge and understanding of WTD, Tachograph rules and regulations. Proficient IT skills with experience using Excel and transport management systems. Good communication skills and the ability to plan ahead and work on your own initiative. This role will require good computer skills and good communication skills internally and externally. Promote a positive manner, strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure. Applicants for this position should be driven and ambitious, hold good educational qualifications, with a positive attitude towards health and safety, transport compliance and be customer-centric.
