Job Title: 7.5 Tonne Driver/Loader Location: Hayedown Depot Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Working Hours: Monday to Friday (early starts, occasional weekends/overtime as required) Job Purpose: To carry out the safe and effective collection of household waste, recycling, and commercial refuse using a 7.5 tonne vehicle. This role includes both driving and loading responsibilities, ensuring a high standard of service is delivered to the local community. Key Responsibilities: Operate a 7.5 tonne vehicle in accordance with legal, safety, and company standards. Carry out collection rounds for domestic, recycling, and commercial waste. Assist with manual loading of bins and sacks as required. Ensure vehicle checks are completed daily and defects are reported promptly. Complete all required paperwork and digital records accurately. Work cooperatively with loaders and supervisors to meet daily service targets. Follow designated routes and schedules while adapting to any necessary changes. Maintain a professional and courteous manner with members of the public. Uphold health and safety standards at all times, ensuring safe working practices for yourself and your team. Report any incidents, accidents, or concerns promptly to the line manager. Keep the vehicle clean, presentable, and roadworthy. Essential Requirements: Valid UK driving licence with Category C1 (7.5 tonne entitlement). Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC). Good level of physical fitness for manual handling tasks. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Basic understanding of health and safety practices. Desirable: Previous experience in waste collection or similar driver/loader role. Familiarity with the local area around Hayedown
