RESPONSIBLE FOR: Newmans Own & New Launches
JOB PURPOSE: The Assistant Brand Manager will lead the planning and day to day activation of Newmans Own in the UK and English Provender in the US, whilst learning and developing your marketing skills ‘on the job’ and being fully supported by the Marketing Manager.
Do The Right Thing, The Right Way:
- To support the Marketing Manager with Brand Activation, NPD/EPD pipeline and initiatives maintaining high quality standards.
- To support, create, deliver, optimise 12-month brand plans on the licensed Newmans Own in the UK and English Provender in the USA. Building consumer and shopper demand & driving best practise at execution.
- To work at pace to deliver timely product launches and effective marketing plans (including agency briefings, managing budgets & timelines), including NPD / EPD pipeline & packaging development.
- To support Brand Manager (Very Lazy) with Very Easy US listings (e.g. new line forms).
- To deliver “toolkits” including branded sell-in decks to retailers and one-page activity grids.
- To contribute to weekly agency calls (including Digital, customer services and licensor) in order to make decisions and drive pace.

- To collaborate and align with internal expertise and stakeholders where relevant (Commercial, Category, NPD, Production, Customer services) in order to maximise plans, drive brand growth and achieve flawless execution.
- To support with our US licensor Newman’s Own with weekly calls, best practise and collaborative plans that drive impact and efficiency.
- To communicate brand and product activation plans in a timely & effective way with internal and external stakeholders.
- To drive the love of our brands: Newmans Own and English Provender:
- Act as brand champion ensuring all internal and external stakeholders understand and support the brand’s objectives and plans for achieving them.
- Be the voice of the brands immersing, stewarding and championing our brand personalities and bringing them to life (Commercial, Factory, Agencies, Retailer, Consumer).
- Monthly store visits and dotcom checks with reports back into the business (insights -> action).
Be Better Everyday:
- To own, manage and report on marketing budgets & ROI.
- To own weekly sales and monthly brand tracking reviewing performance and making recommendations.
- To turn insight into recommendation and action in order to deliver targets against KPI’s including GM (Gross margin), Sales in, RSV (Retail sales), Brand Share (value, volume), Stock levels & ROI.
Bring Positive Energy:
- To portray a positive image of the company and its values in a professional manner at all times.
- To be the audience champion for our older consumers (cultural / food trends, consumer behaviour, competitor activities, store) in order to recommend and action growth opportunities.
