Modus Careers is partnering with a leading studio based in Birmingham. With a global portfolio and a bold, people-first ethos, this studio is known for delivering beautiful, functional spaces across the hospitality, F&B, and leisure sectors.
They’re now on the lookout for a talented Senior Interior Designer to join the team on a maternity cover contract, starting in July/August. This is a hands-on, client-facing role with the opportunity to lead design direction, manage internal teams, and bring fresh creative energy to a variety of projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leading end-to-end design for high-profile F&B and hospitality projects, from concept creation through to client presentation and handover.
- Taking ownership of initial client meetings, building rapport and translating briefs into standout design strategies.
- Collaborating closely with a cross-disciplinary team including architects, brand designers and 3D specialists to ensure seamless, joined-up project delivery.
- Mentoring and managing junior and mid-level designers, creating space for growth while setting high creative standards.
- Pitching and presenting innovative ideas with clarity and confidence, both internally and externally.
- Spearheading creative sessions, driving ideas forward and pushing boundaries where appropriate.
- Overseeing drawing packages and technical documentation with a high attention to detail.
- Championing best practices, creative exploration and client satisfaction every step of the way.
What We’re Looking For:
- A strong portfolio of F&B and hospitality interiors.
- Minimum of 7 years' professional experience in interior design, with clear leadership capability.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
- Experience leading project teams and acting as a key point of contact for clients.
- A collaborative, proactive mindset with a passion for storytelling through space.
- Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and FF&E specification.
- A design degree in Interior Design or a related field; postgraduate qualifications welcomed.
