Specialist PBS Practitioner – Adult Learning Disabilities

Remit

Compass Associates is working with a specialist provider of residential, supported living and therapeutic support services, to recruit a Specialist Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner. You’d divide your week between two residential services, in South Yorkshire, which support adults who have learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions and additional learning needs. Your role will involve:

  • Carrying out functional behavioural assessments
  • Formulating and implementing interventions
  • Delivering specialist training to residential and support staff

In addition to your clinical role, you can contribute to service development, carry out research and where appropriate, be involved in pre-admission assessments and planning for transitions. You will work as part of a wider team which includes Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SALTs, Therapy Assistants, Behaviour Analysts/PBS Practitioners and Advanced Practitioners.

Location

The services are commutable from Doncaster, Rotherham, Sheffield, Mexborough, Scunthorpe, Gainsborough, Goole, Barnsley, Worksop and surrounding towns.

Candidate

The successful candidate must have:

  • A Masters’ Degree in PBS or ABA
  • Extensive experience working with individuals with autism, learning disabilities and challenging behaviours
  • Previously worked within an MDT
  • Previous experience delivering training to staff
  • UK driving licence and access to own car
