We are working with a specialist tax consultancy to find an experienced professional to join their Tax Consultancy team. This role is ideal for someone who has worked at HMRC and is now looking to use that knowledge in a client advisory role. You will be helping accountants, business owners and individuals understand and respond to HMRC enquiries, disclosures and disputes.
The role includes:
- Advising clients on HMRC investigations into personal, partnership and corporate tax
- Helping with disclosures such as the Let Property Campaign and Worldwide Disclosure Facility
- Reviewing correspondence and legislation to support clients with compliance issues
- Providing technical input for internal discussions and occasional marketing content
- Supporting colleagues by sharing knowledge and helping spot opportunities across the wider team
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience working at HMRC (essential)
- A solid understanding of how HMRC approaches enquiries, penalties and information powers
- The ability to write clearly and explain complex issues in plain terms
- Confidence working directly with clients and discussing technical matters
