Qualified Psychologist – Term Time Only – Specialist School

Permanent, term time only role (full time will be considered)

Salary: £47,000 – £65,000 DOE (pro rata’d to term time only)

Remit

Compass Associates are working with one of the country’s leading providers of specialist education, to recruit a qualified Psychologist to join their specialist school in West Yorkshire, on a term time only basis.

The school provides focused, individualised and therapeutic support and education, for children and young people, who have a range of backgrounds including complex trauma, attachment difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities and SEMH needs. There are extensive facilities on site including a purpose-built vocational training centre, therapy spaces, sensory rooms, fully equipped gym, games room and rebound therapy room. The postholder must have access to their own car as the school is spread across four sites (all within 15 minute drive of each other).

You’d hold a clinical caseload with whom you’d carry out bespoke assessments, formulate therapy plans and deliver interventions, whilst working within the wider Therapy Team which includes a Clinical Lead, Occupational Therapist, Speech & Language Therapist, Psychotherapists and Assistant Psychologists, OTs and SALTs. In addition to your clinical role, you will have the opportunity to be involved in service development, provide supervision to the Assistant Psychologists and support the Lead Clinician to continue embedding a holistic and trauma-informed approach.

The school is divided into four sites (all within a 15-minute drive of each other), which are commutable from: Bradford, Wakefield, Leeds, Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Garforth, Castleford, Barnsley, Holmfirth, Pontefract, Sheffield, Goole and nearby towns.

Candidate

The successful candidate must have:

• A Doctorate level Degree in Clinical, Counselling, Forensic or Educational Psychology
• HCPC registration
• Car and UK driving licence
• Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs, autism and neurodiversity

Interview Process

Informal conversation with the Regional Clinical Lead, followed by a formal interview on site.
