Job Description

Are you a seasoned Quality Manager or experienced Lead IQA ready to step into a high-impact, strategic role? A leading childcare-focused apprenticeship provider is looking for a Curriculum Quality Manager to drive excellence across their delivery teams and help shape the future of their training provision.

Why Join This Team?

  • Strategic leadership role with direct influence on quality outcomes, QAR, and distinction rates
  • Supportive, team-oriented culture that values fun, positivity, and collaboration
  • Hybrid working with everyone in the Birmingham office on Mondays and Fridays
  • Great perks including 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Flexible pay banding: £45K–£50K
  • Travel expenses covered outside of Birmingham (e.g., train fares)

This is more than a quality role – it’s a strategic leadership opportunity where your experience and ideas will directly influence outcomes and help boost learner achievement rates.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead on quality assurance and continuous improvement across all apprenticeship programmes
  • Oversee the Quality Improvement Plan and Self-Assessment Report to drive results
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with delivery teams, Awarding Bodies, and EPAOs
  • Lead complaints and appeals processes with a problem-solving mindset
  • Support and develop the IQA function, including mentoring junior IQAs
  • Focus on key metrics like QAR, distinction rates, learner withdrawals, and breaks in learning
  • Contribute to strategic thinking with the business’s best interests at heart

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in FE quality assurance or a similar environment
  • Strong understanding of apprenticeship standards, funding rules, and Ofsted frameworks
  • Experience as a Quality Manager is ideal; Lead IQAs ready to step up are also welcome
  • Strategic thinker who can roll up their sleeves when needed (e.g., deep-dive activity)
  • No childcare background required – an outside perspective is welcome
  • Someone who likes to smile, is positive, and takes a solution-focused approach to quality
