The Role:
We’re looking for a Head of Technical Design with solid experience in exhibitions, retail environments, or construction-related design. You’ll lead the technical design function, managing detailed drawing development and collaborating closely with internal teams and external suppliers to bring concepts to life with precision and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate all technical design activities across multiple projects
- Work closely with sales, operations, and production teams to ensure smooth design-to-build transitions
- Produce detailed technical specifications: approval, construction, services, and graphic drawings
- Resolve design and technical issues during development and production phases
- Ensure project delivery is on time, on budget, and to the highest standard
- Maintain compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
- Track and report project milestones and outcomes
- Influence strategic design direction and technical delivery processes
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in technical exhibition design or similar fields such as retail or construction design
- Expert knowledge of construction methods, materials, and finishes
- Proficient in SketchUp, Layout, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat
- Excellent coordination and project management skills
- Highly organised and detail-oriented
- Strong communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
