Are you an experienced in-house lawyer with a strong background in renewable energy projects? This is a unique opportunity to shape the legal framework for a fast-growing clean energy business at a pivotal stage of its development. As Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide strategic legal guidance across the entire lifecycle of renewable energy projects—from development and financing to construction, operations, and optimisation. Your expertise will ensure the seamless execution of transactions, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance, supporting the company’s continued expansion in the renewable energy sector.

Key Requirements:

  • 8+ years PQE in-house or in private practice, with a focus on renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Deep expertise in engineering, construction, and project operation, including procurement contracts (EPC, O&M), consultancy agreements, and resolving development, delivery, and operational issues.
  • Industry experience in renewable energy preferred—background in energy, mining, oil & gas, engineering, or infrastructure also considered.
  • Exceptional drafting skills for contracts and correspondence, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strategic and commercially minded—comfortable rolling up your sleeves, identifying risks, and executing solutions swiftly and effectively.
  • Land and tenure matters, including options, leases, and approvals related to project development.
  • Expertise in Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), optimisation agreements, offtake contracts, hedging structures, and revenue agreements for clean energy projects.
  • M&A and investment transactions—including share sale agreements, shareholders’ agreements, and development services agreements.
  • Project financing experience, ensuring commercially viable and legally robust financing structures.
