About the Project/Role
Reporting to the E2E Product Director, the role requires you to build a thorough understanding across our product portfolio which measures consumption of broadcast and video streaming content. You will lead a team performing product E2E testing to support delivery of our services across the world. The role is focused on management, coordination, and integration testing of deliveries from different product groups. The role combines management with practical planning and execution of tests, and subsequent data analysis. The candidate will lead, and line manage a team of 3 testers. This will require strong leadership and excellent communication skills to ensure effective collaboration with a wide range of people.
Additionally, as the E2E Product Owner, the candidate will act as a deputy to the E2E Product Director learning all aspects of our offerings and interacting with Operational, IT and local service teams, taking on tasks and responsibilities within the product areas as directed by the Product Director. This role suits a person who can lead from the front in terms of understanding our systems and verify our product deliveries. A background in a test role, business analysis or operational experience in a complex IT environment which can be applied to testing would be good grounding for this role. The nature of the role requiring hands-on management and supervision of the testing team means this is predominantly an office-based role.
Job Role Requirements
- Coordinating the development and deliveries from audience product lines, via product managers, to deliver a strategy to ensure there is a viable overall product solution.
- Develop, monitor and manage a process to understand roadmaps and deliverables from across the product areas and coordinate how these combine to deliver features. Understand timelines for delivery of these integrated features and how they fit into a test strategy.
- Understand what testing has taken place on individual products and examine the outcome of the testing with a view to identifying potential problems before integration testing.
- Plan with the product managers how E2E testing of the multiple products that combine to deliver the solution can take place.
- Produce plans for testing and coordinate with testers to implement these tests.
- Carry out 'hands-on' testing and data evaluation to ensure that the products integrate and deliver the expected functionality.
- Manage the team to ensure test platforms are maintained and updated and can support execution of tests including liaising with IT and other teams as appropriate to facilitate this.
- Management reporting so it is clear at a high level what the team has achieved and to allow common issues and trends to be identified.
- Opportunity to act as a deputy for the Product Director dealing with new business, overall Product roadmap and goal management, managing queries and issues.
Role Requirements
- Capable communicator able to understand complex technical detail and the 'big picture' of what the system needs to deliver.
- Comfortable working in a matrix team environment and able to influence and achieve results.
- Able to make use of appropriate tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Confluence etc) to communicate status and record outcomes.
- Able to manage, support 3 members of the E2E Product test team and help grow those individuals.
- Gain understanding of metered audience measurement architecture and data at a detailed level.
- Able to operate under pressure and prioritise effectively and provide clear and concise information and updates and take ownership of problems.
- Able to move seamlessly between managing and guiding the activities of others and getting into the details of how things work and providing hands-on assistance when required.
- Technical skills to run testing - Using SQL based databases to extract information.
- Extracting data from outputs and logs in various file formats.
- Understanding configuration file formats Json, YAML.
- Ideally exposure to a Microsoft Azure environment (Kubernetes, Airflow, MS Storage Explorer, Repos, Helm and pipelines).
