We are actively seeking a Technical Assessor specialising in Construction Product Regulations (CPR) to support and represent UKAS for assessments. This role can be alongside your current role or as an independent contractor.
The ideal candidate for the role of external technical assessor should possess expertise in one or more of the following fields:
- Tests on construction products with modern methods of construction
- Competent Persons Schemes, including electrical installation, plumbing and heating
- Insulation and roofing of relevant sections of the Building Regulations, Building control and inspection, and the Construction Products Directive
You will be playing a pivotal role in the UKAS assessment process. Our external Technical Assessors are instrumental in providing essential expertise, ensuring rigorous assessments in the mentioned areas.
Key skills required include:
- Experience in a commercial testing laboratory or within the civil engineering field.
- Expertise in relevant industry sectors such as building control, product certification, and production, coupled with appropriate qualifications.
- Knowledge in specific certification areas would be highly advantageous.
- Internal or third-party auditing or assessment, along with familiarity with ISO 17065, ISO 17020, and ISO 17021 standards.
