Job responsibilities:
- To develop, grow and maintain the South West golf apparel market for Callaway Apparel and Original Penguin Golf (OPG).
- Market and sell Callaway golf apparel & OPG to customers on behalf of Perry Ellis Europe Limited, via face to face visits, trade shows, telephone, email and showrooms.
- Ensure the full product range of Callaway golf apparel and OPG is shown and advertised to customers throughout the territory.
- Maintain agreed levels of contact with new and existing accounts as necessary to increase levels of business activity.
- To support sales with product training and merchandising in stores to maximise and drive revenue and sell through.
- To manage territory budget and available sales tools to maximise return on investment.
- Provide regional feedback and specific territory requirements to the management team to help drive future growth.
- Provide weekly call plans and monthly budget update reports for your Line Manager with sales plans.
- Liaise with key departments in the UK headquarters such as Customer Services, Planning, Credit Control, and Marketing to ensure that your customer’s needs are met.
- Ensure a thorough knowledge of all brands, markets and competitors in your territory.
- Other ad-hoc duties as advised by management.
Key requirements/experience:
- Exceptional and proven selling skills in the golf apparel market or another key sales market.
- Excellent written, telephone and face to face verbal communication skills.
- Proven organisational skills – including appointment setting, setting effective call plans and comprehensive record keeping.
- Good merchandising skills.
- Self-starter and enthusiastic.
- Strong team working skills.
- Numerate – good working knowledge of Excel in order to produce and maintain company reports and budget plans.
- IT literate – good working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Results oriented and highly commercially minded.
- Ability to generate own sales leads.
- Able to neutralise problems and customer issues.
- Flexible in working patterns and prepared to travel.
- A proactive, adaptable and positive team player.
EDUCATION:
- Required: A Levels or European equivalent.
- Required: Full drivers license.
- Preferred: Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Preferred: English spoken and written.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Significant driving required.
- Time spent away from home.
- Attendance at Trade Shows, Events and Sales Meetings.
