We are now recruiting for an Assistant Design Technician for an opportunity to join a market leading Internal finishes contractor based in Central London. The company is a successfully growing business, which has been established for more than 25 years. They have been recognised for their investment in training, developing and rewarding their staff, and from this have been awarded an Investors in People Gold award.
The company now seeks an Assistant Design Technician with a strong Design background to join a very experienced team of Designers and Architects.
- You will work on a variety of nationwide projects up to £8m in value.
- Working in this fast-paced environment, you will become involved in core projects in workplace fit out.
- The job predominantly involves creating 2D Section details, elevations, modulated system partition layouts, manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD software.
- Scheduling of materials and componentry.
- Attending design and trade coordination workshops.
- Bringing new creative and interactive ideas into the team.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, with a keen interest in design and the workplace fit out environment, and with a willingness to develop their skills. A natural tendency to have a high attention to detail and highly organised working process will be required.
Key skill requirements:
- Experience in AutoCAD 2D.
- Knowledge of Revit Modelling, BIM and 3D modelling experience would be beneficial.
- Good understanding of Microsoft office.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ambitious, Driven, Self-managed, motivated and hard working.
- Looking for a long-term career with excellent prospects to progress professionally.
- Circa 2 years+ working within the workplace interior fit out arena dealing with leading main contractors on large scale commercial projects.
- Direct experience of having worked with drylining, system partitioning or high-end joinery desirable.
- Background in construction and architecture an advantage.
