The Client recruiting for Area Sales Manager:
- Established for over 60 years and specialising in their metrology and inspection arena.
- Multinational, with a UK Global HQ and manufacturing sites in the UK and overseas.
- Trusted by various end-users in the medical, aerospace, precision engineering and electronics sectors.
Your role of Area Sales Manager:
- You will be covering a large territory of Northern England (Midlands upwards), Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
- Selling both directly to End-Users (70%) as well as via distributors (30%).
- This role is split roughly 50/50 for account management and business development.
- Selling a range of metrology and inspection systems into various sectors, predominantly medical, aerospace, precision engineering and electronics.
- Providing in-person demonstrations as required.
- Typical sales cycles range between 1 - 12 months and order values between £1k - £60k.
- A full sales cycle role, from initial enquiry to completion and payment.
- 36 hours per week on average, with some flexibility on start and end times; you will be visiting customers and prospects in person daily across your region.
Ideal background for the Area Sales Manager position:
- Existing sales experience of technical equipment into the medical, aerospace, precision engineering and electronics sectors.
- Clear communicator and able to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of metrology or microscopy sales would be of distinct advantage.
- Hold a full valid UK driving licence and have right to work in the UK as sponsorship can't be provided.
The Package for the Area Sales Manager:
- £60,000 - £70,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
- Up to £30,000 OTE.
