MC Technical Recruitment are currently seeking an EC&I Technician to join the maintenance department of an Energy from Waste power station in the Croydon area. The EC&I Technician will be responsible for the planning and execution of Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation maintenance work across the site to ensure minimum downtime.

As an EC&I Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Fault finding, repair work and planned and unplanned maintenance on all E, C&I assets. This includes motors, drives, switchgear, transformers as well as C&I plant such as pressure, level, temperature and flow sensors and the sites control systems (DCS and PLCs etc).
  • Working alongside other Technicians and Engineers to ensure an accurate daily schedule is produced and worked to.
  • Work with the site engineering team on plant improvement projects and upgrades.
  • Assisting during site outages / shutdowns when required.
  • Maintaining accurate records using the site CMMS.
  • Managing and directing site contractors as required.
  • Working on a days basis.
  • Other duties as required.

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • An apprenticeship in relevant engineering discipline such as electrical or similar along with an HNC/ONC.
  • Extensive experience in hands on electrical maintenance with three phase motors, switchgear, transmitters, generators, sensors, flow, and pressure.
  • Relevant experience in heavy engineering environment e.g., Power generation, chemical production, FMCG or manufacturing.
  • Happy to work alongside other technicians to create an efficient work environment.
  • Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) as well as good communication skills.
  • A great working knowledge of health and safety requirements.
