The Opportunity
As our Business Finance Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and industry-relevant business finance education. Working closely with our Course Leader and wider teams, you will be responsible for teaching across a range of programmes, including BTEC, T Levels, and potentially AAT or other finance-focused qualifications. Your aim will be to bring business finance to life for our learners at Levels 2 and 3, including young people, adult learners and apprentices, helping them to develop practical knowledge and skills that prepare them for further study or employment.
You will design and deliver high-quality lessons that cover key topics such as financial planning, budgeting, accounting principles and financial decision-making. By using a variety of teaching methods and digital tools, you will ensure your lessons meet the diverse learning needs of your students. You will also create engaging learning materials, plan schemes of work, and assess our students’ progress through timely and constructive feedback. Your support will enable learners to set and achieve meaningful goals throughout their time at college.
Beyond the classroom, you will contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement across the department. You will also support wider college activities such as learner recruitment, induction and progression planning. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including local employers, you will help enrich the curriculum and provide valuable real-world links that enhance students’ experiences.
Pastoral support is another important part of your role. You will be there to guide and motivate your learners, supporting them in their academic journey as well as in their personal and career development. You will also be expected to remain up to date with awarding body requirements and be flexible to meet the needs of the curriculum, which may occasionally involve evening or weekend work.
This role offers you the chance to shape learners’ futures while developing your teaching in a supportive, forward-thinking college. You will deliver real-world business finance content, contribute to the curriculum, and help students progress into work or further study.
About You

While previous teaching experience is desirable, we also welcome applications from industry professionals who are looking to move into education and share their real-world knowledge.
You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of learners, including school leavers, adult learners, and apprentices. You should be confident in planning and delivering well-structured, inclusive lessons that meet the diverse needs of your students. A flexible and adaptable approach is important, as is a commitment to continuous improvement—both in your own practice and in the wider curriculum.
We are also looking for someone who is collaborative and proactive, with the ability to contribute to course development, quality processes, and departmental projects. You should be organised, resilient, and student-focused, with a genuine passion for education and helping our learners achieve their potential.
