We are delighted to be working with our client on an exclusive basis who are recruiting for a proactive Health and Safety Assistant to join their team. This is a part time role working approximately 25 hours per week. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen interest in health, safety, and environmental compliance who is looking to grow their career in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
About the Role
As Health and Safety Assistant, you’ll help ensure the business meets and exceeds safety, health, environmental and compliance standards. You’ll be involved in a wide range of tasks from risk assessments and audits to supporting site inspections and promoting a positive safety culture across the business.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Assisting with H&S inspections, audits, and risk assessments (including COSHH)
- Supporting accident and incident investigations
- Keeping training and safety records up to date
- Coordinating safety signage, PPE, and consumable supplies
- Helping to prepare toolbox talks, safety memos, and reports for senior leadership
- Supporting site Safety Champions and Green Team initiatives
- Keeping abreast of changes in safety legislation and best practices
- Providing absence cover for the H&S Manager when required
What We’re Looking For:
- Awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification (or willingness to achieve this)
- Experience in a manufacturing or similar environment (preferred)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- A positive, collaborative approach to safety culture
