A well-established and ambitious manufacturer based in Suffolk are looking for a Manufacturing Team Leader to join their leadership team on a permanent basis. Working for a manufacturer of diverse products to a global customer base, you’ll be responsible for leading, motivating, and developing a team of c20 production operatives while ensuring daily output targets, quality standards, and health & safety regulations are met. A key part of your role will be driving Lean Manufacturing initiatives and embedding a culture of continuous improvement within your area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, support, and develop a team of production operatives to achieve operational targets.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance process efficiency.
  • Identify, implement, and sustain continuous improvement initiatives across the production area.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Provide hands-on support and problem-solving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Deliver regular team briefings, training, and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments including Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain.

This role would suit a proactive, results-driven leader with a strong background in manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and/or Six Sigma tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Experience of managing KPIs and driving operational improvements.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.

The role is a days based role Monday to Friday with opportunities for overtime. Benefits include 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) and company pension scheme.
