We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Business Support Officer to oversee and coordinate key aspects of attendance and admissions at our secondary school. This is a vital front-facing role that supports the smooth running of the school and helps ensure every student has access to education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and record daily student attendance using the school's MIS system
- Follow up on absences, liaising with parents/carers and external agencies where necessary
- Support the admissions process, from initial enquiries through to enrolment
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records in line with GDPR
- Produce attendance reports and contribute to safeguarding meetings
- Provide general administrative support to the wider school office as required
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in a school office or similar administrative setting
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and school MIS systems (e.g. SIMS, Arbor, or equivalent)
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially and professionally
- A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach
- A valid enhanced DBS is essential
