Temporary Night Watchperson - Public Sector (Arran)
Hourly Rate: £12.63 | 12-hour night shifts as required
Our Public Sector client in Arran is seeking a Night Watchperson on a temporary basis. Reporting to the Port Manager/Ship Chief Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and safety of vessels and their surroundings during overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct hourly patrols and monitor mooring ropes, gangways, safety nets, and securing ropes
- Ensure the security of vessels, restricting access to unauthorised individuals.
- Maintain a telephone watch for emergency call-outs from Fire, Police, or Ambulance services
- Respond to incidents by calling out the ship's crew when necessary
- Assist with vessel berthing and gangway operations, ensuring safe access is maintained
- Oversee the security of pier buildings and vessels
- Maintain the mess room and adhere to all company work instructions
- Perform additional duties as requested by the Port Manager
