The Role:
You will be part of a close, but busy team delivering a high level of service for our customers and partners, with a focus on efficiency, compliance and safety. A team player attitude and clear, effective communication are essential. The role involves the collection and delivery goods to and from Customers premises from our hub in Dartford. You will help ensure compliance and the smooth running of the transport operation for both the partner and internal stakeholders, with the goal of maximising safety, quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving: Operating large commercial vehicles over various routes
- Safety: Maintain a clean and roadworthy vehicle and prioritise safe driving practices
- Loading & Unloading: Assist or oversee the safe loading and unloading of goods, ensuring all properly secured
- Compliance: Adhere to all relevant driving regulations, which will include driver's hours, WTD, and safety guidelines
- Route Planning: Plan efficient delivery routes in collaboration with the Transport team, adapting to changing traffic or road conditions
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine vehicle checks, recording your findings and reporting any defects
- Documentation: Handling collection/delivery notes and client paperwork ensuring completed both fully and correctly

For this opportunity, if you have the following qualifications and experience, we want to hear from you:
- Current licence valid for the type/class of vehicle
- Driver CPC
- Digital Tachograph driver card
- Over 25, or with a minimum of 1 years driving (Class 2) experience
- Ability to effectively work as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Confident and polite disposition
- Ability to build a rapport with Customers, partners and Davies Turner colleagues
