As part of our continued growth, they are seeking an accomplished Commercial Manager to oversee and drive the commercial function across a portfolio of high-value projects.

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum + Car allowance + Package

Role Summary

The Commercial Manager will take responsibility for the financial and contractual management of multiple concurrent projects, from pre-contract through to final account. This is a senior position within the organisation and plays a key role in ensuring the successful commercial performance of the business. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the successful candidate will be expected to provide strategic input, manage risk, support project delivery teams, and uphold best practice in all aspects of commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of live projects, ensuring robust cost control and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage the preparation and negotiation of contract terms, variations, interim applications, and final accounts.
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement and contract management, ensuring value for money and programme alignment.
  • Support pre-construction teams with cost planning, tender analysis, and commercial advice.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks across all stages of project delivery.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Ensure all commercial activities comply with legal, contractual, and company procedures.
  • Provide detailed commercial forecasts and reports to senior management, contributing to strategic business planning.

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered status (MRICS) or working towards professional accreditation is desirable.
  • Experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor role within the fit-out or construction sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of standard forms of contract, particularly JCT.
  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple fast-paced, complex projects concurrently.
  • Excellent commercial acumen, analytical capability, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to lead, influence, and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • High level of proficiency in relevant IT and commercial reporting tools.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project sites as required.
