Had enough of managing small-fry projects? Good at mediating between people with different viewpoints? One of Birmingham’s most exciting residential developments, expected to change the face of the city on completion in 2026, is entering a new phase and as construction ramps up that brings the need for an additional mechanical project manager. The M&E subcontractor on this 600-flat development has managed the early phases with 2 mech PMs, the workload now requires a third. With two on site who know the project inside out, the situation is perfect for someone who has cut their teeth on small and medium residential projects and is ready to take on a bigger challenge. In particular, someone who prides themselves on their calm demeanour, stakeholder management skills and ability to see both sides would be a great fit. This individual will be expected to act as a go-between for the MEP subbie (their employer) and the main contractor on site, seeing both points of view and mediating any disagreements. Don’t worry if you don’t have a CV – you may not need one. I’d like to hear from you anyway, happy to discuss the role and answer any questions before committing…
