An established and design-led commercial fit-out contractor is looking for an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join their team. Based on the South Coast, this forward-thinking business delivers high-end workspace and commercial environments across the region, with a strong focus on quality, innovation, and client service.

Role Overview: As Pre-Construction Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the early stages of commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects, working closely with clients, designers, estimators, and delivery teams. Your role is critical in shaping project strategy, winning work, and ensuring a smooth transition from concept to site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the pre-construction phase of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including design, estimating, and project management to develop robust delivery strategies.
  • Attend and lead client briefings, site visits, and pitch presentations.
  • Develop project programmes, logistics plans, and construction methodology.
  • Identify project risks and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers during the tender phase.
  • Oversee tender quality submissions and support in negotiations with clients.
  • Provide technical advice and input to ensure feasibility and value engineering opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Pre-Construction, Project Management, or Technical Design role within the fit-out or refurbishment sector.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of Cat A & Cat B fit-out delivery.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a confident client-facing approach.
  • Strong technical understanding of construction methods and sequencing.
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings, programmes, and construction documents.
  • Organised, proactive, and solutions-driven with high attention to detail.
