Vice President of Software Engineering Vice President of Software Engineering will provide strategic leadership and direction to global software engineering teams, driving innovation, scalability, and operational excellence. This is a pivotal role in shaping the technology roadmap, fostering innovation, and ensuring the successful execution of software projects for our client, a global leader in providing fraud prevention solutions to the financial services industry. Reporting to the CTO, you will oversee global engineering efforts and lead the integration of acquired technologies and engineering teams during mergers and acquisitions as well as business as usual tasks. This role requires a visionary leader with proven expertise in managing complex organisational transformations and aligning technology strategies with business objectives. Key Responsibilities & Requirements Strategic Leadership : Develop and execute a comprehensive software engineering strategy aligned with business objectives and product roadmaps. Inspire and mentor teams globally, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration across regions and time zones. Change and Transformation : Lead functional transformations, integrating teams and technologies to drive efficiency and innovation. Manage change at scale, including post-acquisition integration of new technologies and engineering teams. Serve as a change champion, inspiring others to embrace continuous improvement and adaptability. Global Team Management : Oversee a global engineering organisation of 50+ professionals, including three senior leaders managing core product lines. Build a high-performance culture that promotes trust, transparency, and excellence while embracing diversity and inclusion. Technology Roadmap : Define and drive the long-term engineering vision, ensuring continuous improvement, scalability, security, and innovation of software products. Align technology investments with business objectives to maximise impact and efficiency. SAFe Methodology : Champion agile principles and SAFe practices to streamline processes, enhance delivery, and foster collaboration across distributed teams. Performance Metrics : Establish KPIs to measure and optimise engineering performance. Use data-driven insights to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and drive operational excellence. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement : Build strong relationships with cross-functional leaders and stakeholders. Work closely with product management and executive teams to prioritise initiatives, allocate resources, and meet evolving market demands. Risk Management : Identify potential risks in engineering projects and develop proactive mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery. Talent Development : Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent globally. Foster professional growth, a culture of continuous learning, and iterative improvement within the organisation. Innovation and Research : Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge. Emphasised Requirements Proven Leadership Experience : At least 15 years of experience leading and managing global software engineering teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, delivering exceptional results. Global Team Management : Expertise in scaling and managing remote-first engineering teams across multiple time zones. Build a collaborative, results-driven culture and streamline communication across regions. Post-Acquisition Integration : Extensive experience leading organisational transformations, integrating technologies, and merging teams following acquisitions. Technology Roadmap Development : Strong track record of defining and executing technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives, ensuring scalability and operational excellence. Cloud-Based Architectures and SaaS : Familiarity with cloud-based architectures, SaaS solutions, and modern development practices. SAFe Expertise : Recent hands-on experience with SAFe implementations and SAFe certification is essential. PE-Backed Organisations : Demonstrated success working in private equity-backed companies, effectively navigating resource-constrained environments. Scalable Product Development : Proven ability to drive the development and delivery of complex, scalable software products. Business Alignment and Acumen : Strong business acumen with a history of aligning engineering initiatives with broader organisational goals. Leadership and Culture : Excellent leadership skills, fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and innovative team culture.
