Blueprint Recruitment is seeking a motivated Piping Designer to join a leading Design and Engineering Consultancy on a contract basis. This hybrid role offers 2 days working from home, with the other 3 being based at either Manchester or Teesside offices.
You’ll work alongside experienced teams on major oil and gas projects, with exposure to sectors such as Water, Energy, Transport, Defence, and Nuclear. A great opportunity to contribute to key infrastructure developments across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:- Produce 2D/3D civil and structural designs for temporary and permanent works.
- Use software like Aveva E3D, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
- Work within a Common Data Environment (e.g. ProjectWise).
- Deliver work to budget and schedule while maintaining technical quality.
- Follow relevant codes, standards, and company/project procedures.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, teams, and external stakeholders.
- Support compliance and maintain awareness of industry standards.
- Experience as a Piping Designer in infrastructure, energy, or related sectors.
- Skilled in design software like AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS, or SmartPlant.
- Knowledge of piping materials, systems, and construction methods.
- Strong drafting skills and attention to detail.
- Team player with solid communication skills.
- HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
