Are you ready for a new challenge? Do you love working with children & young people and making a real difference in their lives? We’re offering an incredible opportunity for a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our brand-new Short Breaks Service as a Registered Manager.

About the Service

We’re launching a specialist residential Short Breaks home in Mountsorrel to support children and young people (aged 8-18) with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and challenging behaviour. This beautiful new home will accommodate up to 3 young people at a time, offering them opportunities to:

Please note: While the home is being prepared, you may be required to work across nearby homes in Hinckley, Coalville, Braunstone, and Syston.

Key Responsibilities

As the Registered Manager, you’ll be the heart of the home. You’ll be responsible for leading, supporting, and empowering your team while creating a warm and safe environment for young people to thrive.

  • Lead and supervise the team, including managing rotas
  • Develop and embed a positive culture that supports individual and group needs
  • Oversee transition plans and ensure they are aspirational and outcomes-focused
  • Maintain a high standard of care and environment at all times
  • Hold regular team meetings and contribute to service development
  • Liaise with the local authority for placements and planning
  • Play a key role in mobilising and launching the new home
  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support where needed

What You’ll Need

  • A full UK driving licence
  • Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification
  • Level 5 Leadership qualification in Health & Social Care (or willingness to complete)
  • At least 3 years’ experience working with children (within the last 5 years), including 1 year in a supervisory/management role
  • Strong understanding of OFSTED regulations and quality standards
  • Solid experience in safeguarding, recording, and reporting
