We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Workshop Assistant to join a leading and growing manufacturing company based near Christchurch.
The primary role of the Workshop Assistant will involve supporting across the manufacturing site with a variety of duties.
Responsibilities:
- Keeping all manufacturing areas clean, with a regular cleaning schedule.
- Keep buildings and site in a clean and orderly condition including yard maintenance (hedge trimming, debris removal).
- Ensuring the entire site is well maintained, notifying management of the need for repairs and general maintenance tasks to be carried out.
- Waste management – including shop floor general waste, recycling waste, metal swarf management including segregation and hazardous waste (oil).
- Drain and clean slurry from machines annually.
- Forklift operation – move goods, materials and scrap/swarf bins within the factory and yard, loading or storage area.
- Work to all H&S procedures and processes.
Ideal Experience:
The ideal candidate will be happy to get stuck in with a variety of duties, be a self motivator. Any previous experience as a handyman, general site hand would be preferred and any forklift experience would be an advantage, however not essential. There will be an element of lifting and moving stock, equipment and materials around the site, although will be regulated in a safe manner.
Salary: £13.39 per hour
Hours: 25 - 35 per week, which can be worked across 4 days Monday to Thursday
