MDE are seeking an electrical estimator with experience of costing and project engineering solar PV projects. We are seeking someone who can fulfil the following job responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labour, equipment, subcontractor costs, and contingencies.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop optimal system layouts and accurate bills of materials.
- Conduct site visits (as needed) to evaluate project-specific conditions affecting pricing and logistics.
- Prepare, circulate and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
- Support the business development, project management, and sales teams with technical input and bid documentation.
- Prepare client-facing proposals and tender submissions.
- Maintain an up-to-date cost database and estimation tools.
- Assist in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or compliance.
Requirements
- Experience in solar PV estimation of projects larger than 100kW.
- Experienced user of PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCad and traditional software such as MS Excel.
- Practical understanding of both electrical and civil aspects in solar PV construction settings.
