MC Technical Recruitment is currently working exclusively with a leading renewable energy business operating Anaerobic Digestion (AD) facilities across the UK. Our client is seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee multiple operational AD sites, ensuring optimum performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
As an Area Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
- Leading and supporting a team of Site Managers across several AD facilities
- Overseeing operational performance, health & safety, and site compliance
- Conducting monthly 1-to-1s, setting KPIs, and driving staff development
- Delivering improvement plans in collaboration with site teams and HSEQ
- Monitoring plant performance against key metrics via SCADA systems
- Supporting project handovers from commissioning to operations
- Liaising with internal teams and third-party clients on consultancy and compliance matters
- Staying current on government legislation, OFGEM compliance, and sector trends
- Other duties as required
We’re looking for someone with:
- Proven experience managing multi-site operations in AD, waste, utilities, or similar process industries
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Commercial acumen and a hands-on approach to process optimisation
- Professional qualifications in engineering, operations, or management (WAMITAB & NEBOSH/IOSH desirable)
- Excellent analytical, planning, and communication skills
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site locations as required
